20 South Korean Christians have been kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Why? Because of telling people about Jesus. Please pray for them. (By the way, the picture above is NOT the people kidnapped. I couldn't find a picture of them. But it is a picture of a group of Korean missionaries).Pray for boldness. The Taliban has claimed that they will interview these people. This is an opportunity for the gospel to go to members of the Taliban. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is sufficient to convert Taliban members, and so let us pray for good opportunities for these people to speak of the Savior.
Let us also ask God for their lives.

nothing to do with this post, but true words spoken in Sunday's message. A side thought @ Jesus carrying the sheep around - I like the picture of Jesus "my" Shepherd b'cause sheep are stupid, weak, get lost easily adn will follow each other to destruction. The Jesus that looks for the one lost, broken sheep is tender. He is "approachable". real. STRONG. Our enemy is like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Jesus can rip open that lion's mouth and rescue the sheep (who may have even been in the wrong place at the wrong time). I don't think there was much "meek and mild" about Jesus - whose very birth was announced to the poor, smelly, common shepherd people who desperately needed the hope and "happily ever after" he came to give.

Jesus is the good Shepherd. As such, he does have to pick us up from time to time and nurture us. However, we run the risk of thinking that's all He does if we don't have some pictures of the Shepherd with a sling shot and a sword (Like David the shepherd used).
How come we never see pictures of Jesus fighting wolves and lions with a sword? that would be cool.
