Hi Mike, Great picture of the rice fields and mountain. Looks a lot like some scenes your dad and I shared many moons ago. Also, I agree wholeheartedly with your comments about the man who died saving his dog. As a preacher, I'm sure you can get a whole month of sermons out of that story. "For a righteous man some would even dare to give their life, but Christ died for us, the Godly for the unGodly, even while we were still sinners" (Trask paraphrase) :-)

in fact, Brian, I was down near the boarder of Laos for several days of our journey, by the Mekong river in Southern China.

The chinese farmers of that area are amazing in their ability to farm on hills, very steep hills! Favorite crops are rice, of course, but also corn for the animals, and sunflowers --everywhere sunflowers.

Also, Canibus grows wild --and "not so wild" in many places.

The number one southern crop now is Tea. Americans are loving Tea and the chinese are growing tea.

As for the guy and his dog, man, what are we coming to? What has been taken from that man's family is much more than a dog. . .
