You're right that was a great post. Thanks for getting my blood pressure up! I'm sorry, but what a bunch on nitwits Penn, Glover, and their lefty friends are. I guess enough has been said already about their total lack of logical thinking but this is as obvious as the nose on your face. I just can't even believe they support this dictator while saying Bush is the evil one. And then you have the nitwit who comments on that blog by stating, "Um Bush has done those things." COME ON!!!! What planet have you been on or what kind of whacky weed have you been smoking???!!! This stuff drives me nuts. George Bush has allowed no dissent???? ARRGGGHHHH!!!! Unbelievable. I know Satan has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to the light of the gospel but didn't realize it was also to the light of simple logic. That Satan can do a pretty good blinding job eh?
You know, Darin, I think public school has done a poor job of adding WWII to the curriculum. Children should be taught how the dictators of Europe and Japan went about their business.
Hitler, Mousselini, Tojo, Stalin, all worked in ways that were very similar. all took over the press. all threw their political enemies in jail or worse. all claimed the rights to private property. all set themselves up as the champion of the people and used that platform to take down the powerful in their own nation. All teamed up with other wicked men around the world.
Anyone, and I mean anyone, who has even a modest knowledge of the history of the twentieth century should immediately recognize what Chavez is doing. His friendships are with Castro, and Mahmoud Adinajab, etc. He has taken over the press, the television stations, the oil industry, and increasingly is dominating all private property.
I don't care how much someone hates Bush, to not be able to see the difference is silly. silly.
It is odd that two groups of people can look at the same facts and see them so very differently. Discussions about the facts don't usually work with many liberals, who either discount the facts based on the "intentions" of the liberal cause, or jump to new arguments once they are in a position of having to face up to the illogic of their position.
But we have to remember, too, that the intentions of the liberal causes and emotions which surround the situation are quite real. Showing the long-term effects of a position on the hurting and needy can sometimes support a conservative perspective more than data alone. For example, the destruction of the inner city caused by the welfare and education systems are a great argument against the so-called Great Society, and it's hard to point to "hard-hearted conservatives" to come up with any other reason for that destruction. Somehow we have to break through the blindess to logic that frustrates Darin (and me!) so much to reach these sheeple.
At least with GreyWizard you get good discussions of facts that support his points-of-view. We disagree on so many of the facts, but he thinks his positions through more than most, IMO.
Well, I think the point is not without merit. Movie stars who fraternize with communist dictators don't get much negative media coverage. Why not? everything else they do that is even close to negative gets all over the papers. Probably because the media doesn't want to make Chavez look bad.
However, I see GW's point. Sean Penn is not all liberals. I'd go further and say that when it comes to conservatives and liberals, often the people in power in government and in the spotlight are much different than the rank and file. There is an elitism that comes with power.
As for Fred Phelps, he is an equal opportunity offender. His rudeness has always been shameful, but now that he moves it to the funerals of others, it is all the more so. We live in a time of very poor manners as it is, and still he stands out as the extreme in bad taste (plus he's just plain evil).

That blog you referenced represents the worst America has to offer in terms of political discourse.
Who cares what Sean Penn does, and more importantly why is it an indictiment of every with a left leaning view.
Should I assume all Christians think like this:
http://www.godhatesfags.com/main/index.html (its about the Westboro Church that protets at soldiers funeral.)
Of course, for me to make that leap is absurd.
