I am afraid of what rights will be taken away from us if we have to abide by the decisions of a world supreme court. Does a "global constitution" take precedence over our own? The American founders are rolling over in their graves.
What the founders knew was that man cannot be trusted! They believed in checks and balances because they knew that in the long history of man, unchecked power always meant oppression and slavery.
They also believed that freedom is a gift from God and government should promote and not prohibit it.
A one world government would mean no respect for such ideas. The power to rule the world in the hands of one man or one body of people would mean unprecedented tyranny and great cruelty throughout the world. That is what man does.
While I believe America is far away from this I was listening to Dan Carlin's podcast on this exact subject.. (his politics are very much to the center).. Check it out...
If you listen let me know what you think. His analysis of the 2008 Election cycle was some the finest I have ever had the pleasure of listening too....
