Fist fight? Not necessarily. However, warriors are archetypes in the male mind that speak of value and meaning. What am I talking about?
I want to matter by fighting against evil. I want the fight and I want victory. Men, in general, crave victory.
Sports captures the hearts of millions of men becuase they echo to his desire for victory. But sports don't matter, in the big picture. Where in society can a man fight for truth? Where in the world can a man feel like he is on a quest to defeat evil and do good?
Most men, I believe, never become what God made them to be, because they have no cause greater than themselves that inflames their passions. Men don't just want victory, they NEED a good fight for a good cause. If they don't have it, or don't pursue it, then they become idle, underachieving, and even destructive.
Samurai and Ninja. Warriors. What great symbols for Christian men. May we live up to such archtypes in our fighting for the souls of men!!
