Okay, I saw this movie.
Thoughts:
1. It's not that bloody. It is less bloody than Saving Private Ryan, and Braveheart
2. There are a couple of scenes where you see human hearts in some one's hand. Kind of creepy, but not too bad.
3. Great movie, as a movie. Compelling characters, dramatic, unique story.
4. Drawback, there was some "native" nudity. Glimpses of people who don't wear much clothes, especially when the Mayans were slaying the people of the village --not senual at all, and not over done.
5. the men wear as much clothes as sumos. no more. if this offends, stay away.
6. Lots of great tats, jewelry, and designer scarring. I think it will be all the rage with the younger generation soon.
7. Only one cuss word. (I confess, I laughed when I heard it. It was kind of funny)
8. The picture of this guy running is pretty much what you see for the last half hour of the movie.
9. I'd give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

OK, I watched the trailer for it. Looks bloody, but sometimes they show the "bloodiest" parts in the previews. I don't think I'll see it because I'd be too red faced every time a guy's behind appeared on the screen. LOL. But it looks good.

yes, it is a man movie. for the women, it might even be a stumbling block! (the men don't wear much).
there is a love story in it though. the man' motivation is to save his wife and child, who spend 90% of the movie in a deep pit, waiting for him. She is pregnant. in fact, she is in labor.
I guess it really isn't all that attractive to the ladies after all. :)
When we watched the trailer Scott was saying YEAH and I was saying EW! But see when you say it's a love story it appeals to me more. The blood isn't so bad if it's blood he's shedding for his woman! Then we ENCOURAGE him to fight!! GO warriors!! :)
This movie was awesome!!!! But what I loved the most was how Gibson uses the sybtitles and atmospshere to cover up the fact that this is really just an action picture.
A GREAT Action Picture, but a silly action picture just the same.
