The New Face of The Episcopalian Church In America

Peter Akinola is a leader of the church worldwide. He is the "primate" in Nigeria for the Anglican Church. This makes him a very important man in Nigeria. However, he is now a very important man in America. Why? Because two of the largest Episcopalian parishes in Virginia have put themselves under the authority of Peter Akinola. Akinola has declared that the acceptance of gay marriage and gay bishops by the church in America is Satanic. He has formed the Convocation of Anglicans in North America. He consecrated an American, Martyn Minns, Rector of a large Virgina church, to be the bishop of this American expression of the world-wide Anglican movement.
What does all this mean? It means that if the West's Episcopalians are willing to sell out their Lord, God is not without options. He has raised up many more Anglicans (Episcopalians are Anglicans) in Africa than in England and America combined. God's church goes forward!

This is a good example of how God is always in control. And His will is going to be done. Regardless of the how evil and misguided people are.

The world is made up of sinners. We know this, because we are sinners who have been called out of the world. We expect the world to sin, and we don't judge them for it. On the contrary, we try to bring them salvation. HOWEVER, WHEN THE CHURCH LEADS THE LOST DEPER INTO BEING LOST IT IS TIME FOR A FIGHT. This is what is happening in the Anglican church worldwide. Many of the "shepherds" are devouring their sheep instead of caring for them. God is raising up new shepherds.

Interesting to note: The Nigerian Anglican Church has 17 MILLIONS MEMBERS! And it is one of the poorest in the world.

The American Anglican Church (the Episcopal Church as it is called in the USA) has only 2.3 million members. It is one of the richest in the world.

God uses the least to shame the greatest!

The Spirit will have its way. There is no loss there is only gain in the Spirit. I fail to see love in any of this. I only see division and discord. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, beyond our lives.

Sometimes, love looks like a good Shepherd raising up his stick to bonk a wolf on the head, in order to protect the sheep.

Not everyone can be right. Either the Episcapol church in America is right or the Anglicans in Africa are. this is not small stuff! this is central to what it means to be human and Christian.

I can't think of anything more loving that making the distinction between truth and grave error.

I see love all over this.

Love is not always overlooking differences and saying everything is alright. That's American "tolerance" of falsehood. not love.
