The clowns who lead us have seen fit to force the hands of our military by pulling them out of Iraq or withhold their money. So, what part of "We support the troops" looks like that?
Okay, class clowns, some simple lessons. Look around the world. George Bush is not the problem. Though many disagree with his solutions, he is not the problem. The problem? Crazy Muslims who want to kill all the infidels are the problem. If they would stop blowing themselves up, the war on terror is over.
Of course, it is not politically correct to make war on crazy Muslims in America, so I guess George Bush is the problem, right? silly silly people.
Anyway, so we are in Iraq. Agree or not, we are there, and the crazy Muslims (there are non-crazy Muslims, I'm not talking about them) see this as the place to beat the Americans. Oh how easy it is. They don't have to defeat our military, just get our congress on their side. Not hard to do.
So the Congressional Clowns are giving the crazy Muslims what they want. What would happen if America ducks out of the fight in Iraq? Lots of things, all of them bad.
It will be the second major conflict we have been in that proves to the world that the American people are easy to manipulate, with the help of the American press, to get us to pull out. The American Congress and the people who elect them have the blood of over a million civilians on their hands because they pulled us out of Viet Nam with no protection for the people of South Viet Nam, Cambodia, Laos, etc. Of course, the American people don't know that, because why would CBS News want to bring all that attention to such things? Hmm? Don't want their own policy to look bad.
Okay, pull out of Iraq, what happens? The only nation actually fighting terror with any will power is now backing down. This will have what effect on the crazy Muslims? Hmm? Please, not liberal spin on this answer, reality will prove the obvious.
Oh, and please, no garbage about how GW made all the Muslims hate us more. So silly, so very silly. They hated us already and have been at war with us since the 70's, long before GW.
But the wise Pelosi's and Reids and Hegels know better than the Generals on the ground how to handle Iraq. Right.
IF ANY AMERICAN SOLDIER READS THIS BLOG, LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THERE IS A VERY LARGE GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO KNOW WE ARE RIPPING YOU OFF, ERODING YOUR SUPPORT AND TRASHING THE BLOOD OF YOUR FALLEN COMRADES AS A NATION. WE, LIKE YOU, FIND IT REPULSIVE. WE TRULY SUPPORT YOU, MISSION AND ALL. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT THING: LIBERATING A NATION WITHOUT TAKING IT OVER, FIGHTING THE CRAZY MUSLIMS WHO REALLY ARE TRYING TO KILL US ALL. YOU ARE GOOD MEN MAKING THE WORLD SAFER FOR PEOPLE IN AMERICA AND EUROPE WHO DON'T DESERVE IT. BUT THEY WILL SING A DIFFERENT TUNE WHEN MORE BUILDINGS FALL, NO DOUBT. OF COURSE, THEN THEY WILL BACK DOWN AGAIN WHEN YOU START TO WIN THE FIGHT AGAIN. I'M SORRY AND ASHAMED OF MY FELLOW AMERICANS HERE AT HOME. I APOLOGIZE FOR THEM.
My father was in Viet Nam. Regardless of how we got there or whether we should have been there, we could have and should have stayed to win. 50k American soldiers lost their lives in a congressionally motivated loss. I gave up my father for 2 years of my life to have his efforts made useless.
In this war, which is extremely winnable (believe me, the dems know this --they need us to lose for political reasons --they have bet all their money that we fail --they need us to fail), we have lost many fewer, but are going to pull out anyway. Do we care about Iraqis? Obviously not. Obviously our congress is willing to say to the Iraqi's "You're on your own. Sure, a couple more years and you'll probably be able to carry on the great things that have begun in your land without our help. but, we have elections and people need their power so, have a nice chaos day."
I'm ashamed of Congress. Every American who understands history and freedom should share in this shame.
ps. I will not have the energy to answer a bunch of objections to this. I wanted to get this off my chest.

What the Clowns said once, in another world, another universe:
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002 | Source
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998 | Source

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."

- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002 | Source
"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002 | Source
"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002 | Source
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

None of those quotes say anything about eternally excusing the massive incompetence in executing the war that the Bush Administration has shown. We can't just support a war for the sake of supporting it.
Here are a few more quotes from clowns. (on Kosovo)
"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is."
-Governor George W. Bush (R-TX)
George W. Bush, 6/5/99
“I think it’s also important for the president to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn.”
"President Clinton is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy."
-Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA)
"No goal, no objective, not until we have those things and a compelling case is made, then I say, back out of it, because innocent people are going to die for nothing. That's why I'm against it."
-Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/5/99
"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy."
-Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of presidential candidate George W. Bush
"You think Vietnam was bad? Vietnam is nothing next to Kosovo."
-Tony Snow, Fox News 3/24/99
"Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years"
-Joe Scarborough (R-FL)
"I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our overextended military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President started this thing, and there still is no plan today"
-Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)
"Explain to the mothers and fathers of American servicemen that may come home in body bags why their son or daughter have to give up their life?"
-Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/6/99
"You can support the troops but not the president"
-Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)
(one of my favorite blatantly hypocritcal remarks)
"My job as majority leader is be supportive of our troops, try to have input as decisions are made and to look at those decisions after they're made ... not to march in lock step with everything the president decides to do."
-Senator Trent Lott (R-MS)
For us to call this a victory and to commend the President of the United States as the Commander in Chief showing great leadership in Operation Allied Force is a farce"
-Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)
"America has no vital interest in whose flag flies over Kosovo's capital, and no right to attack and kill Serb soldiers fighting on their own soil to preserve the territorial integrity of their own country"
-Pat Buchanan (R)
"These international war criminals were led by Gen. Wesley Clark ... who clicked his shiny heels for the commander-in-grief, Bill Clinton."
-Michael Savage
"It is a remarkable spectacle to see the Clinton Administration and NATO taking over from the Soviet Union the role of sponsoring "wars of national liberation."
-Representative Helen Chenoweth (R-ID)
Want more? Whatever you claim about the current Democrats, none are more despicable thant he current Republicans. Liars and whores to the last.
Grey Wizard, I know we don't agree on these matters. I love you anyway. Thanks for listening.
I must admit, by just reading your thoughts and opinions, the depth you go to argue your point of view amazes me. You both have motivated me to dive more into the political world I have mostly avoided. I must admit I love to see you both debate though heated at times, it encourages me to seek out more information. I value what you both have to say even when heated because I know you both have a passion and concern.
"The President of the United States of America is the head of state and head of government of the United States. The office of president was established upon the ratification of the United States Constitution in 1788 and the first president took office in 1789.T
The president serves as the chief executive and leader of the executive branch of the United States government. Article Two of the United States Constitution establishes the president as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces and enumerates powers specifically granted to the president, including the power to sign into law bills passed by both houses of the Legislature, to create a Cabinet of advisors, to grant pardons or reprieves, and, with the "advice and consent" of the United States Senate, to make treaties and appoint federal officers, ambassadors, and federal judges (including Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States). Article Two also defines a presidential term at four years; subsequently, the Twelfth Amendment (1804) revised the procedure for electing the president and the Twenty-second Amendment (1951) established presidential term limits.
The United States was the first nation to create the office of president as the head of state in a modern Republic, and today the presidential system of government is used in many countries throughout the world."

Because Americans are granted the freedom of speech through undeserved grace does not mean that we should use it to say anything we want. We must remember that we have elected to office a President of these United States. This position deserves honor. He is our leader and to tell him how to lead us is foolish. To follow involves trust in someone else's decision. I understand if Americans do not agree with the President-I don't agree with anybody, all the time. But we have grown to big for our britches if we think we know how a country within this world called Earth needs to be run from our stance as a good citizen with a good heart. We must respect and, atleast, entrust ourselves to a man who took on the responsibility of a nation, to lead it and protect it. Would any man in their right mind take that position, hold life and death in his hands, and not consider his actions? This man carries a burden that not many can carry. If we would support him and not discourage him, maybe we would see that he has something to say. He is a man with a conscious, made of flesh and blood yes. But he is also the President of the United States. He deserves respect. Listen to him.
I guess we can all agree that planning is good. Duh!
Also, we can agree that having an objective for war is good. Duh!
We can also agree that we should win any war we are able to win and honor our pledges to those we have promised to stand behind. Duh!
We should also have an exit strategy planned, but that is not as simple. How can you plan and exit when you're not ready to exit yet? Duh!
Politicians also seem to agree that attacking the others plans and person is good. UH OH!
It would make me feel comfortable if both sides would be nice to each other and not criticize each other and cut each other off at every turn. Yea right, that will happen!
We need to work together and find common ground, but I fear that will never happen when each party seeks to destroy the other in so many ways. What will happen to us?
Lord of heaven, help us to treat one another better. Please bless our government, help them to act justly. Lord, make our leaders full of integrity and wisdom. If we are ruled by a bunch of clowns, no matter democrat or republican, how long can we stand.

Amen.
Alison, when I was a kid, we had Johnson as president, then Nixon, then Ford for a little while, then Carter. Regardless of what you might see looking back, at the time, the nation wasn't too excited about any of them. (Indeed, the first president to bring some optimism with him into office, and excitement by a majority of the people, was Reagan, in 1980). Anyway, as a kid, I was taught by the generation who was before my era, obviously. They had grown up on FDR, Truman, Ike, and, for a brief moment, Kennedy. They came from a different age. Your post sounds like the kind of things they would tell us in class about our unpopular presidents. Honor them because of the office, etc. I fear, your comments today will make you shark bait. The virtues honor, trust, respect, etc, I think, are vacationing on another planet these days.
Amanda, good! there are important things happening in the world, but the average American is not alerted to them by the media nor by commercial television. if you listen to the media, you'd think the most important items in the world are global temperature change and gay rights. And if you keep listening, you will learn not to pay attention to anything except Lost, American Idol, your new Cell Phone, the latest Movie, and the New Car you want. Americans fiddle while the world burns, in one sense (I don't want to sound too negative, every day should involve joy over being alive and the great world we live in and the people in our lives we are given to love).
You can't help but wonder if one of the reasons many of the suffering of this world don't "get" the United States is that we seem so aloof. Indeed, we are. The issue-dujor is served up by the industrial news orgs and the cultural elites, and we are trained to eat nothing else, ignore the rest of the menu, and never hold an opinion that goes against the grain.
I say, we go Contra Mundum!!! and we do it smiling! and loving, even our enemies.
With that in mind, let us pray for those who will today cry out death to America, That God will bless them, and, hopefully, change their mind.
