the Killer Angel



Shaara's book about the Battle of Gettysburg he titled, "Killer Angels," based on the response that one man had to the description of mankind as being like angels. "Killer angels." And yes, we are.

We who bear the image of God are deformed in soul. Life is valuable, but very short and very fragile. Let us all bow and take note of our humanity, and our mortality, as our nation's eyes turn towards Virginia this week.

"The heart is desperately sick and wicked," says the Prophet Jeremiah, "who can understand it."

It seems like we've been giving a thorough schooling in the past eight years since Columbine exactly how wicked the heart can be.

We may not understand what makes one heart do the evil it does, but we should not be surprised by it.

Rather, I think we should recognize the need to share the gospel with those who need it. What might have happened had this man heard the words of the gospel and believed...

From what has been said in the news,these school shootings only began in the 1990's. There have been no recorded cases before then, even in the inner cities, where gangs and guns dwell in mass quantity.

What is happening in the minds of some children today. Are they demon possessed? That might explain the maniacal laughter. Hey, for those no-believers out there, it's as good an explanation as any!
