Why Did Toyota Become The World's Biggest Auto Maker This Quarter (Beating GM for the First Time)?

Answer: They build a better product.

American Auto Workers Union has sunk the American auto. "Quality is job 1." If you buy Japanese.

It's tough for GM and Ford to improve quality. When you do that you have to upgrade your equipment or buy new equipment. To do that they have to lay off people who's job is replaced by a machine. The union will not let them lay the people off so they can't afford to do it.

Yes, it is tough for GM and Ford to improve quality. That's the problem. Socialism in small doses is hurting our nation. The Unions have so tied the hands of our auto-makers that they cannot get more productivity out of workers who have scheduled break times, guaranteed benefits and pay, and they are almost impossible to fire.

Yes, we should treat our workers well, however, when the government and the unions team up and force businesses to comply with things like this, WORKERS LOSE INCENTIVE. You can't change human nature. If people know that working harder won't get you more reward and that working less won't get you in trouble, then they will respond accordingly.

The unions had their day when they were truly needed. Not so much anymore --at least in the auto industry. They've already wrecked our steel industry. what is next?

"Sundown on the unions, made in the USA, sure was a good idea, till greed got in the way," --Bob Dylan
