How about their own words:
Senator John Kerry: "We don't have enough troops in Iraq," --2005.
"[I believe this]very deeply. Number one, we cannot fail. I've said that many times. And if it requires more troops in order to create the stability that eliminates the chaos, that can provide the groundwork for other countries, that's what we have to do." --to Tim Russert, 2004
Senator Joe Biden: "There's not enough force on the ground now to mount a real counterinsurgency." "They're going to need a surge of forces," --interviews from 2005
Senator Harry Reid, this one from last month :) "If it is for a surge -- that is, two or three months and it's part of a program to get us out of there as indicated by this time next year -- then sure I'll go along with it. If the commanders on the ground said this was just for a short period of time, we'll go along with that."
OF course, now they'll say "It's too late."
bottom line: Most Democratic Senators will say anything, anytime, if they think it will help them win elections and criticise Bush.
Finding hypocrisy among these guys is easier than shooting fish in a barrel! And kind of fun, too!
Truth: Democratic Senators don't give a rip about the people of Iraq. As long as Bush looks bad, they feel good. What would a pull out do now, to Iraq? Who cares, right Hilly? Those people don't vote, at least not in New Hampshire.
Dem Sissies of the Senate, what will you do if we ever have a real problem? Iraq is chump change compared to a real war.

This is so true with the democrats, however, I think that the same thing applies to many replublicans also. I'll repeat a quote that I heard yesterday regarding many republicans, "...they would sell their grandmother and her elephant for just one more day in office."
There is one thing that so many republicans now are beginning to have in common with the democrats, lack of a backbone.
Val, I agree with you 100%!!!
Unfortunately, one of the republicans who did keep his word, Santorum, was maligned falsely and run out of town.
there's little room for honest people in Washington.
Hey, I'm ready for a new national party. Want to start one?
Santorum was maligned for his record of deceit and manipulation. He didn't represent the people of Pennsylvania, he represented himself and his family's financial interest, period.
He sealed his own fate when he got involved in the Schiavo family business. He did that because he thought it would play well with his public morally superior persona.
If Democrats lack backbone, then what do combat avoiders like Bush, Cheney, O'Rielly, Limbaugh, and other masters of division and hate have?
I'll gladly have civil discourse, but the tone and tenor of posts here is out of control.
The Republican Party lost control in the last election because they presented the worst of 2 options. They won control claiming to be morally superior, but we all now know they were just giving lip service.
tone and tenor out of control? Wizard, I guess we just don't agree. tone and tenor are out of control when people chant "Bush lied people died." Everyone knows that Clinton and all the rest believed and said the same things about Iraq. So did other nations in fact.
When Gore shouts, "He deceived us, he betrayed our country!" that is bad tone and tenor.
No. The tone and tenor of this blog isn't the problem. The problem is on this blog I bring in facts that abc/nbc/cbs/pbs don't.
As for Schiavo, sorry, I think that was murder. you don't have to agree, but anyone who defended her is a hero to me. As for deceit and manipulation, just throwing out indictments like that doesn't make them true. I don't believe you. I've neer seen those facts.
If you can take the Cindy Sheehans of the world, and the Ted Kennedy's ("This war was concocted in Texas to benefit his oil company") then my blog is easy. "No more blood for oil" does that mantra bother you? it should. we haven't gotten any oil out of the deal at all. I wish we did.
no, the rhetoric from the left is mean spirited and filled with name calling. I, on the other hand, am poking fun based on truth.
Wizard, if you want to dispute me, go for the facts. I quote the left. I don't make up what they say and do.
I'm an american and I love this country. I truly believe that if Hillary Clinton and her ilk get their way, we will lose our freedom continually. Her policies are socialist and elitest. I believe that. It's not personal. I'm sure she'd be a pleasure to have as a friend and I would be kind to her if I saw her. But she is in the public arena and her opinions effect me and my children for generations. I will not remain silent.
she can be my friend. I just don't want her to be my leader.
peace.
