Mike Jones, the gay prostitute who brought down Ted Haggard, visited Haggard's old church this past Sunday. He had been invited my many of the members. He was received warmly.Since most Christians believe any sex outside of marriage (marriage between a man and a woman, that is) is sinful. This is mind, Christians are often wrongly accused of being "hateful" or even have having irrational fears ("phobic"). The press seemed almost startled that Jones was well treated at this church. I am not. I know thousands of Christians and they are the nicest people I meet. They don't hate people, including gay people.
It can be hard for the world to understand how someone can think a certain behavior is a sin, but not to hate sinners, but Christians do it all the time. In fact, Christians I know are all convinced that they themselves are sinners, saved by the Love of God who is merciful to sinners.
All this to say, it's nice to see Christians portrayed the way they really are, once in a while, instead of the extreme wackoes and caricatures the media seems to like best.

Is Harvest going to participate in that special Sunday on Margie's blog? By the way I wanted to comment on your Sam and the Ninja blog but I don't have a blog and it won't accept just my name. It is looking VERY nice. You must be taking lessons from the blog queen. lol
Whether a person is gay or straight is not something I have to worry about judgeing. I am not surprised that the parishoners welcomed that man either! Praise God they did show him Godly love! We are all sinners and my God convicted sins are the ones that I worry about. I thank God that I do not have the responsibilty to have to judge a fellow sinner's sins. I leave that job to the only sinless One. I have enough work staying focused on my own.
in fact, Carol, Sam and the Ninja has added the fore-mentioned "blog queen" as one of our stealth warriors. you do well to recognize her mad skills.
as for ease of commenting, my apolotigies. let the blog queen know and she will fix that for us!
